A few months ago we shared the beginning of this project in Mizil, Romania. Today, the installation has been successfully completed and the plant is now fully operational.
Developed in collaboration with Dutch Trading and MGN, this project forms part of a modern feed production facility promoted by Dutch International Trading, a company with more than 19 years of experience in Romania’s livestock sector.
With this new infrastructure, the company strengthens its production capacity while improving the efficiency of its feed manufacturing operations through advanced storage and material handling systems.
A grain storage system designed for efficiency
As part of this project, Silos Córdoba has supplied a complete storage solution tailored to the operational needs of the plant. The installation includes a total of 23 hopper silos, designed for the storage of wheat, raw materials and finished feed.
◊ Wheat storage silos
The system includes 9 hopper silos with a 45° cone, each with a capacity of 1,406 m³, a diameter of 10 m and 13 rings in height.
These silos are designed for large-scale wheat storage, allowing efficient gravity discharge and ensuring a continuous supply of raw material for the feed production process.
◊ Raw material silos
The project also includes 10 silos designed for raw material storage:
√ 8 hopper silos with a 60° cone, each with a capacity of 104 m³
√ 2 hopper silos with a 60° cone, each with a capacity of 70 m³
All of them have a diameter of 3.64 m, with heights of 8 and 5 rings respectively, ensuring rapid and complete product discharge while maintaining a constant production flow.
◊ Bulk feed silos
For the storage of finished product, the installation incorporates 4 hopper silos with offset hoppers, each with a capacity of 39 m³, a diameter of 2.55 m, and 6 rings in height.
These silos are specifically designed to facilitate efficient bulk feed handling and dispatch.
Safety, accessibility and operational control
In addition to the steel silos, the project includes several key elements to ensure safe and efficient plant operation:
♦ access ladders and catwalks for safe inspection and maintenance
♦ structural supports engineered to withstand operational loads
♦ upper and lower level sensors for inventory monitoring, overfill prevention and continuous product control
Supporting modern agro-industrial infrastructure
The successful completion of this project reinforces Silos Córdoba’s commitment to delivering customized grain storage solutions for the agro-industrial sector.
By combining engineering expertise, structural reliability and operational efficiency, we continue supporting the development of modern feed production facilities around the world.
